Can you hook up more than 1 receiver to a single direct tv satellite dish?

I live in 3 story apartment complex and there are about 5 or 6 Direct tv dishes on the side of the building. So my question is can more than one receiver be hooked up to a single dish? Like if i were to ask a neighbor to use their dish would it work?

Thanks!|||Yes, look into a DP34 or DP44 switch.

These are designed to let multiple receivers run from a single dish, although you will still need a subscription.|||No every skybox needs it own dish|||The dish is just an antenna. Just as with any antenna, you can hook up several receivers if you use the correct equipment to do so.

Problem is, DISH (for example) only allows a maximum of 2 dual receivers (4 TV's) on a subscription. I suspect they do that because they only charge an extra $5 per receiver, and consider more than 4 TV's to be multiple families or something.

So when you get your own subscription, it's the receiver that is the most cost, and an extra dish is small change to them. Plus, it's the receiver that has the decoding circuitry for the signal to be unscrambled, so if they sent out a shutoff code on the signal for your receiver, it doesn't matter what dish it's connected to.
