Can i use a usb wireless g network adapter on an old direct tv dish to enhance the signal reception for wifi?

i have a wireless network adaptor and saw someone use a direct tv dish to catch a wifi signal i was wondering if anyone has used a dish in co op with a wireless networkk adaptor to catch the signal and maybe enhance the signal strength,, does anyone know if this is possible and if so,, how it can be done?|||The length of an antenna element needs to be in proportion to the wave-length of your signal.

In case of a dish, the diameter of the dish needs to be proportional.

You can find plenty of antenna guides and calculations on the net that will help you determine if the dish is suitable.

A second problem you may face is the connector. Wireless antenna typically use a BNC connector that is much smaller than the dish BNC connector. You may have to buy a new connector to directly solder the signal cable.
