I just built an addition on my house and I want to hook up about 6 recivers on my one slimline direc tv dish is this possible?|||Yes. Using a Multiswitch after the dish this is possible.

It's also the one I would put in. It's HD ready for the latest dish from Directv. By using this one you can us it with the older dish and not have to replace it when you get the new 5 LNB dish.

How can I get 1080 quality tv through dish network without paying for it?
I just bought a sanyo 1080p 42 in tv and have dish network. Is there a converter box to put between my receiver and tv to make my tv picture better without having to pay the extra monthly charge for hd programming?|||There is no need for a converter. You TV automatically upconverts the 480p from DISH to 1080p. However, (as you can see) there is only so much an upconverter can do. If you want to watch HD, you need to pay for HD programming ori nstall your own off-the-air antenna.|||The only way you are going to get HD quality Dish Network is with a HD receiver. There is no other way. Off air channels are fine, but you aren't going to get an off air channel in true HD.

The 0 - 100 meter is an arbitrary scale that really doesn't show you much other than the peak when you have the dish pointed correctly. Should I replace my cable TV with Dish TV? The Dish cost less, but will I have quality issues with Dish TV?
I can save close to $100 on my internet, phone, TV cable service if I switch from comcast to ATT. My wife thinks dish TV will give us signal problems and doesn't want to convert. I want to give it a try. Any opinions?|||You will get excellent picture and audio results with Dish. If the system is properly installed, you should only experience a short outage during an extremly heavy rain storm. And storms like this are rare. The outage will last for only a few minutes. You will hear many stories about satellite going out during light storms or cloudy days, this is due to the dish not being properly aligned for maxium signal or an obstuction is blocking the signal. I've had Dish for eight years and have been selling and installing it for four. I'm in the same boat but I have a different issue: dish says it supports four TV sets, but can the four sets be tuned to four different channels?|||Why get the dish - Better picture unless you have all digital cable or HDTV cable, lower cost if you stick with it, power source is limited to your home and your generator if you have one (works when power is out elsewhere in the cable system), offers channels not available on cable
Why stick with cable - local cable news if any, no dish to blow away in high winds, works during heavy rain unless heavy rain is over their satellite dish site, easier to discontinue without hidden charges (stories are told here of bills that keep coming), no new equipment to buy because you rent it
Make your own choice|||About 2 years ago I first tried Directv. The picture was phenomenal... until it rained or there was even heavy cloud cover. Then I lost the signal until the weather cleared up. I next tried Dish Network because they lied to me and told me I wouldn't have the weather problem with their system. I did!
Satellite Tv works great as long as the weather is clear. I can't imagine it working in Seattle.|||I have dish TV and live in California the only problem i have is late at night you get tons of infomercials because the programing comes from the east coast. I have never had a problem with losing signal as many others have stated but we rarely get bad weather here.|||YOUR WIFE IS RIGHT!!!

How to program a dish remote to a newer tv?
I have an old Emerson like 17" tv and got a newer 28" sharp tv. The dish tuner is set for channel 73 for the Emerson but when I plug the cable into the back of the newer sharp tv I can't find the tuner or any dish channel. There is no box for the dish tuner it runs off another box that is located in another room. There is no channel 73 on the sharp as well. What do I do?|||go into the t.v. set up menu and select cable instead of air/ ant ( the latter setting will not allow the tv to go higher then ch 60 )|||Go into your tv menu and add channel 73.
Can you use a direct TV dish with a dish network receiver?
we just dumped direct TV service and were going to look in to adding on to a neighbors dish network service and splitting the bill. Need to know if they use the same satellites and equipment.|||The card is different so I don't think you can. Totally different code.

People don't even realize you can watch programs from all over the world! Just put in free-to-air in your search bar and you'll see that it's all free!
