Where and at what cost can i have my own dish to view TV programming?

I am interested in having my own dish to view tv programming? Is this possible. It needs to be a small dish since i live in an apartment. How about the cost of the dish/equpment? How do i get to access the programming/channels? I presently pay over $100,00 per month for the service i have. Any help is appreciated...|||There are free-to-air (FTA) systems you can purchase. They will receive unscrambled channels but the selection is very limited. Do a web search on FTA and you will find a large selection of compaines to purchase from.
